Wednesday 5th January – walk ***** – The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry – sunny and cold.

Woke to a frosty cold clear morning with not a cloud in the sky so after a constructive morning at home, I did my exercises, chopped some kindling while Mag sorted out our new printer plus had contact with our boys too :) Then after lunch and with the very high tides continuing, we decided to do the same walk as yesterday to get the flood pics but with a deep blue sky. We arrived at The Dip at one and set off along the prom towards the Ferry with more people about today and the waves crashing up the concrete step. Moving onto to kite beach we spot hundreds of what we think are Dunlins on the beach as there is no shingle bar for them to land and then they would all take to the air, just an amazing sight, we stopped and watched then for ages! The tide was definitely higher today at least a foot more water with water coming over the sailing club slipway! Loads more water in the boat yard with most of the boats now standing in water and you could not get into the yard from the front. So, we headed out along the River Deben path to check my yellow delict boat which was only just above water before returning spotting a large seal fishing:) What a top walk it turned out to be so it was time to return home to sort out my pics, my laptop was really slow so had to run the clean up programme which sorted it out, had tons of rubbish on it! Sadly, no pic on the weather today but there might be a nice sunrise tomorrow and despite getting down to minus 5 or 6 I will wrap up and take a look!
